Melia | Class of 2017 | Charleston

Charleston, oh how I love you.  City of southern charm, history, and beauty.  Pair that with a gorgeous senior and I'm nearly in heaven.  Melia's session started in downtown where we walked and walked and walked some more admiring the elegant homes and architecture of Charleston.

Melia's expression is the perfect example of how much FUN we have on a session!

Yes, we changed clothes right in Downtown Charleston.  Part of our custom boutique experience is clothing consultations and planning.  I even went through her closet with her.  LOL  And next, we went down Rainbow Row.  How could you live here and not be happy all of the time with so many happy colors?

After Downtown Charleston, we went back to the hotel to freshen up for the beaches.  I had scouted the locations the day before so I already knew where to go and what outfits we needed.

One thing about photographing on the beach is that the light can change so quickly.  I loved playing with the more dramatic lighting in the next set of images.

And the still waters of this inlet beach with the reflecting sun made a gorgeous backdrop!

Our second beach location I specifically wanted just the brambles and vines I found while scouting and thought they would emphasize Melia's pretty brown eyes.  Completely a win!

We arrived at our last location where Melia and I literally ran a pretty long way to catch the sun dropping and the glow of the sunset.  The wind was raging here but working through it we came out with some gorgeous sunset images with movement in her clothing and hair.  Perfect imperfection.

Before leaving beautiful Charleston we grabbed a couple of last minute shots of Melia rep'ing her Stephanie Turner Photography shirt.

Thank you to her and her mom, Kathy for trusting me and Charleston for her Senior Destination Session!  If you would like to book your own Senior Experience or a Senior Destination Session contact Stephanie at

Breanna | Class of 2018

My Girl!  I cannot believe my niece (and my son-later on that) graduate high school this year.  How can the babies of the family be old enough to graduate and go to college?  I just cannot believe it.  So of course, Senior Portraits were something we both were excited about.  Bre (that's what we call her) has grown up playing in the river so that's where we headed for her session.

One of my favorite colors for the natural outdoor settings is a denim or a navy blue, another favorite is burgundy.  Combining those was perfect, especially since she had the cute shoes!

Bre's a country girl so we had to have a casual jeans outfit.  We chose neutral colors for the cabin and antiques but added the sweater that gave us some added color.  (Think about your environment and your personality when choosing your wardrobe.)
When the sun started setting the sky turned all kinds of gorgeous and then reflected in the lake.  Of course the conversation then went "Bre, wanna get in the water?"  Bre"In my dress?"  Me"YES!"  Bre "OK!"  and I'm so thankful she did!

This is a canvas in my living room!

What's playing in the water without splashing a little?  The one thing I hear from Seniors is how much FUN they have during their session.  Here's proof!

We had the best day, made some memories, created some beautiful images.  Some were printed as prints, some as canvases, all went into a gorgeous senior album that will be treasured forever for generations.

If you would like to create a fun Senior Experience and walk away with incredible images then I'm your girl!

Katie | Class of 2017

I first photographed Katie for her Junior Prom and when she booked her senior session I knew we would create some incredible images together and have fun doing it!  She is truly a joy to be around and such a talented and beautiful young lady.

We chose downtown Hickory and this location is where her grandmother worked for many years when this beautiful building was a bank.

I had to see these in Black and White....Stunning!

I cannot remember why Katie glanced at her mom but we both loved "that look" she gave her.

That Fall Backlight is to die for!

These colors, this bench!  We loved it!

We it is fall, so we play with leaves!

This one is probably my absolute favorite.

There's no way her family could pick a couple, but our gorgeous Coffee Table Book will hold all of the images from Katie's session.  A perfect product for displaying her senior year, especially since we included a page for prom and cap and gown images!
